TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) – An alternative form of health care in Tallahassee is available without the need for health insurance.
Aquarian Clinic provides primary care to anyone 12 years of age and older and with new funding extending their care to them.
The clinic offers small businesses and people who cannot afford health insurance another option for primary care. Christina Anduiza is a patient.
“Being able to see a provider who can spend 30 minutes to an hour with me talking about everything I need help with and able to solidify and create a plan for me has legitimately changed my life,” said Anduiza.
In Anduiza’s case, she said she had health insurance, but never received the proper care she needed.
“Being able to pay directly for this health care service which is able to give me the personalized and comprehensive approach to well-being has really been able to help me in a practical way.
Taylor Ann Drew is a nurse practitioner and co-owner and founder of the Aquarian Clinic.
She worked in health care for two decades and wanted to improve the system.
“I noticed that health care was not necessarily where it should be when it came to providing patient care.”
In 2020, a law was passed allowing registered nurses to practice primary care.
“When they passed the bill allowing nurse practitioners to practice independently, I took the plunge and decided to open my own practice.
And now his practice is expanding with additional funding from investors.
The money is being used for things like its new HIPPA compliance app which allows it to check in with its patients around the clock and continue its mission of giving patients the best possible care and support.
“Sometimes having that person on the other end of the phone say it’s okay, your symptoms are okay to take them for relief and I’m there if you need me.”
Aquarian Clinic provides health care to local businesses like Happy Motoring, Poco Vino, and Bumblebee Hair Removal.
